A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death at a gas station in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood of Montreal on Thursday night.

The armed attack took place around 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the petrol station on rue de Salaberry, near rue Marsan, according to the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
When police arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been injured in the upper body by a possible knife, said SPVM spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant.

The victim was transported in critical condition to treat injuries that do not endanger his life, the SPVM said.
According to preliminary information, the victim was stabbed at least once during an altercation that allegedly broke out with another person who immediately fled.

Investigators were to advance to the scene to analyze the scene, protected by a security perimeter, in an attempt to determine the circumstances of this armed attack.
