This morning around 6am, An accident involving a police vehicle occurred on Route 138 between Ring Saint Antoine and the entrance to Pignoronde in Baie-Saint-Paul.
The police officer and police woman in the vehicle were slightly injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. The man had a headache and his colleague had rib pain.
According to our information, the police were trying to find a vehicle that had allegedly committed a crime.
The SQ media relations page notes that “weather conditions began to deteriorate at the time an apparent U-turn occurred,” said Sergeant Hélène St-Pierre.
The police officers and the bus were traveling west. The bus driver said the patrol car initially swerved to the right. “I changed lanes and suddenly the car swerved to the left and ended up on the side in front of me. The impact happened at that moment,” the man said.
The collision did not occur at high speed. The bus was traveling at about 50 km/h.
Police officers from the Charlevoix-Est station have initiated a collision investigation to determine the incident. They took the statement from the driver of the two's larger vehicle. The case does not appear to have been handed over to a specialized police department.
No one was injured on the bus with 23 Club Med employees. A female passenger was taken to hospital for examination. They boarded another carrier vehicle and drove to 1 Rue de la Montagne-Secrete in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François.
The accident caused a traffic delay for a good hour. Transports Québec employees took care of the traffic
