A Scottish village is battling a disturbing clown who is terrorizing the population and taunting the local police, various British media outlets are reporting.

A sinister figure dressed in the style of Stephen King’s clown Pennywise recently appeared in the township of Skelmorlie, about fifty kilometers from Edinburgh.

The latter, who, like the character in the book It, often holds a red balloon in his hand, wanders the streets of the village and has created a Facebook page where he shares sad conditions.

In his description on Facebook, the man, who calls himself Cole Deimos, says he is self-employed and studied at Clown School and then Hellgate High School. He was born in Hell, Michigan and his romantic situation was “complicated.”

In a video posted on October 11, the clown comments on the attention he receives from the media and responds to alleged Facebook comments with an altered voice that sounds more sinister.

However, the residents of Skelmorlie are not laughing.

“No matter who it is, he scares everyone. We have to stop him. Someone needs to talk to him before the police get involved, otherwise he will actually scare someone. It could cause a real heart attack,” one father told The Independent.

The medium claims that local police are aware of the character and his disturbing videos, but have not received any incident reports.

In his video, the clown also claims that he knows the police know him, but suggests that this doesn’t worry him.

“Do you think that’s important to me? You have to catch me first anyway. And yes, I challenge them to do so,” he announces.

The curious character claims not to be looking for fame, fame, or fortune; he assures that he “just wants to play.”

“Come and learn to fear the Clown of Skelmorlie,” he says.
