Another TikTok user made a video of it, prompting Ms. Gomez to respond in the comments.
“Lol I’m shaking from my lupus meds,” Gomez wrote in the comments. “Also read my disclaimer. I’m not a professional,” she added.
The TikTok video criticizing Gomez shaking hands has since been deleted.
The singer and actress has been open about her health issues, which include a bipolar diagnosis in addition to lupus.
Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that causes the body to attack its own healthy cells and tissues.
Gomez announced in 2015 that she had lupus. Two years later, she shared that the illness prompted her to undergo a kidney transplant donated by her friend, actress Francia Raisa.
