[À VOIR] MLB: He runs onto the field to propose to his girlfriend… and it’s going very badly

A staunch Los Angeles Dodgers fan thought he was doing the right thing by literally jumping onto the field during the team’s opening game Thursday to ask his girlfriend the big question, but stadium security didn’t listen to keep from laughing.

Sushi chef Ricardo Juarez will long remember his foray into midfield at Dodger Stadium, where he appeared after jumping the fence to propose to Ramona Saavedra before a stunned crowd looked on. Except that the completion of his steps ended abruptly when a goalkeeper came to hit him with a tackle worthy of a soccer player as he had his knee on the ground, the ring’s box firmly in hand.

A couple of security guards then handcuffed the fan with a Mookie Betts jersey on his back to carry him off the field.

Despite his misfortune, Juarez had some good news to share. “She said yes,” he wrote on his Instagram account, accompanying his message with the video showing him in an unfortunate position.

For her part, Saavedra confirmed the statements in another letter, but added that her future husband is in prison.
