Aaron Rodgers: The GM of the Jets is reassuring

Days go by and Aaron Rodgers is still not a member of the New York Jets. However, the general manager of the Big Apple team calmed down: The star quarterback will not start the season with the Green Bay Packers.

At an event hosted by Audacity broadcaster WFAN Sports Radio on Friday, Joe Douglas was asked about Rodgers’ possible arrival in New York.

“He’ll be there,” the DG replied simply, drawing a strong reaction from the New York crowd.

The rumors escalated last week when wide receiver Allen Lazard posted photos of him training with Rodgers to his Instagram.

Additionally, the Jets signed center Tim Boyle to a one-year contract, serving as the 39-year-old’s backup for three seasons at Green Bay.

Douglas and his counterpart Brian Gutenkunst have been negotiating the terms of a transaction for several months to accommodate Rodgers, who has made it clear that he intends to pursue his career in New York.

The Packers GM recently asserted that he is not asking to be given the Jets’ first-round pick, 13th overall in the next draft, in exchange for the No. 12’s services.

The four-time NFL MVP wide receiver completed 64.6% of his passes for 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 2022.
