Typically, iOS apps earn around four times as much as those made available to Android users worldwide. Still, it turns out that the actual difference is much greater than anyone could have imagined.
The wealth of new data can reveal a lot about the current sales situation of iOS apps. However, it’s important to note that iOS apps typically earn seven times more than Android apps, which is almost double the assumed difference. It’s worth mentioning that iOS apps only have half as many users as Android apps. This point is important because it could ultimately lead to a reduction in the total income that can be achieved. However, the massive increase in average revenue per user more than offsets this, making iOS apps earn almost four times what Android apps can offer developers today.
The bottom line is that iOS users spend, on average, 700% more than Android users. Whether this is due to the overall quality of the apps or some other factor remains to be seen, but the fact of the matter is that iOS apps offer a lot more value, which is why so many developers tend to prioritize them so much.
An iOS app can earn around $10.4 per user per month, while Android apps only earn around $1.40 each. That number doesn’t even include Apple’s hugely profitable subscription services, underscoring the huge gap that’s widening. Android is quickly falling behind iOS, and even having many more users may not be enough to be competitive. This will definitely have a big impact on these operating systems in the future.
