Christian Oliver, a German actor who appeared in films such as “Meteor” and television series such as “Sense8”, died this Thursday at the age of 51 when his private plane crashed into the Caribbean Sea. His daughters Madita (12) and Annik (10) also died in the accident.

According to local authorities, the family had left the small island of Bequia – located in the territory of St. Vincent and the Grenadines – en route to St. Lucia, a journey that takes about 40 minutes by plane. The plane's pilot, Robert Sachs, also died.

Official sources confirmed that Sachs contacted the control tower at JF Mitchell Airport in Bequia to inform them that he had some complications and would be returning. That was his last message. “Shortly after take-off, the plane ran into difficulties and crashed into the sea. “Some fishermen and divers rushed to the scene to offer assistance,” police said in a statement. The bodies of the four victims were recovered by rescue teams, but investigations continue to clarify the causes of the aircraft's failure.

Christian Oliver, whose real name is Christian Klepser, was born in the Celle district. In the 1990s, he moved to Los Angeles to work as an actor and model. His first television projects were Saved by the Bell: The New Generation and The Baby-Sitters Club. Over the years, her career developed and she had the opportunity to work with director Steven Soderbergh in the film Berlin Intrigue and with the Wachowski sisters in the adaptation of Meteor, the classic anime from Tatsunoko Studios.

Just a few days ago, the actor announced on social networks that he had finished filming his next film “Let Him Speak Now” or “Street Forever”, directed by Nick Lyon. According to the filmmaker on his Instagram account, Oliver also played a role as a producer on the film, which is why they both expressed their excitement about this project, which does not yet have a release date. “We talked about making a film together for years and finally we did it. Thank you for being a great friend, actor and friend,” wrote Lyon, who also posted a portrait of Oliver after news of his death broke.
