It has been two months since a lucky person won $2.04 billion (more than R$10 billion) in a lottery in California, USA. However, the record prize has not yet been taken away from the winner of the drawing.
According to US writer USA Today, Carolyn Becker, spokeswoman for the California State Lottery responsible for examining prizes in the state said no winner has yet claimed the prize.
The store that sold the ticket has already received a $1 million (approx. R$5 million) bonus, but so far there is no news about the new big billionaire.
According to Becker, the winner has up to a year to present themselves as the winner of the draw. The person who won the jackpot can do so in a number of ways, such as presenting the winning ticket at a California lottery agency or even sending the ticket through the mail.
Under local lottery rules, the company spokeswoman said she couldn’t say which day the winner placed the bet.
