The role of VAR in the final rounds of League 1 has drawn various comments from fans, either because of the controversial use of this technology or because of its omissions in certain plays that could have changed the course of some games. Augustine LozanoPresident of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), assured that his institution does not interfere in these controversies as they are “issues of interpretation” outside of his sporting leadership.
“I have full confidence in the actions of the referees. If there is someone who has doubts and has evidence, they should report it without fear of anything. I trust the work of the referees. The error in interpretation may be due to the speed at which they have to act, both on the pitch and in the VAR cabin. These are issues of interpretation that are beyond the guidance of the FPF and in which we are not involved,” he explained while leaving the presentation event for the new sponsor of the Peruvian team.
