Two of the world’s deadliest spiders are causing trouble for residents of a certain country. In this case, it’s Australia, a place known for its exotic wildlife and nature fraught with danger. The species in question are: funnel web spider and the eastern mouse spider.

The two spiders mentioned have been appearing in swimming pools in different regions of the country after heavy rains. Among other things, they can live in a pool for more than 24 hours.
Bad weather alert for spiders
Australia’s severe weather warnings have been intense in the New South Wales region and in the north of the country. All of the places mentioned have reports of the appearance of megavenomous spiders. What happens, according to a report by 9news, is that the rain sets the arachnids in motion.
“They usually seek shelter, so the ledge below the pool creates a great environment for them to hide in and stay dry. However, sometimes they can accidentally fall into the pool,” said Sam Herrmann, a reptile breeder at the Australian Reptile Park.
Spiders are among the most dangerous in the world
The funnelweb spider is in the top 10 most venomous in the world, with males having a more potent toxin than females. However, since 1950 there has been a serum to treat the bites of this animal, which reduced the number of deaths to zero. However, a child can die a few minutes after the sting.
Oriental mouse spiders are slightly less deadly than the above, but they are still dangerous. Both can stay in the water for a long time because they trap air bubbles in their fur.
“They can survive for several hours, and sometimes a completely deadlooking spider may suddenly twitch or slowly come back to life,” the head of the Australian Museum’s arachnological collection told 7News.
An official statement is urging Australians to check their pools before jumping in to avoid accidents.
