Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards has been providing subtle hints in recent months that her 27-year marriage to Mauricio Umansky is falling apart.
The clues come in new light when it was reported Monday that the reality TV couple had parted ways amid rumors that Richards, 54, had met country singer Morgan Wade, 28.
Richards and Wade “reportedly have matching heart tattoos,” TMZ reported Monday.
Richards was spotted not wearing her wedding ring in public, to which she and Umansky, 53, responded in April, insisting they were not divorcing at the time.

Richards was pictured without a ring in the months leading up to the alleged breakup, most notably on a Feb. 23 outing in Studio City, California, when he didn’t wear the ring after a workout.
Richards also shared pictures on Instagram of her not wearing it to workouts.
Richards denied that marital issues weren’t the reason she gave up the ring when she appeared with Page Six on April 18 in West Hollywood, California at an event in West Hollywood, California where she was pictured with Wade spoke.
“It all started with a silly picture of me without a ring,” Richards said of their Feb. 23 outing.
At the event — in support of the National Alliance on Mental Illness in the Fleur Room — Richards said she didn’t want to wear the expensive jewelry given rising crime rates in her hometown of Los Angeles, as well as the logistics ring hampered her weightlifting at the gym.
“I wasn’t wearing my big diamond ring because there’s a lot of crime these days and I’m like, ‘I don’t feel good,'” Richards said. “And B, I just got out of the gym and I was lifting weights, so I was like, ‘That thing triggered that?’ I don’t know.’
Richards told the outlet that after more than a decade at Bravo, rumors of her marriage to Umansky had grown a thick skin on her.
“If something like that ever came up, I wanted to cry and be devastated,” Richards told the outlet. “But now I’m more like, ‘Okay, I’ve done that before. let’s do this Come on. Come on. Let’s see what you have here for me.”

Richards said the rumors of armed conflict – which will be the focus of the upcoming RHOBH season – were “really frustrating” and had her concerned about the issue.
“Obviously you don’t like that because when the series airs in six months I’ll look into it,” she said of the series, which is expected to air on Bravo in the fall. “And people will tell false stories and lies again and again.”
Umansky broached the subject a week earlier on the April 10 edition of the Two T’s In a Pod podcast with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge, calling the speculation “so stupid” as he claimed there were no marital problems to speak of.
“This one stupid story that came out and then all the girls decided to talk about it on Housewives and now it’s a storyline,” he said on the podcast.
A source told People Monday that Richards and Umansky “have been separated for a while but still live under the same roof” and “remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for her and her family.”
Richards and Umansky married in January 1996 and have daughters Alexia, 27, and Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. Mauricio is also stepfather to Kyle’s daughter Farrah Aldjufrie, 34, from her first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
An Instagram user using the alias @facereality16 had a theory about Richards and Wade’s budding relationship, pointing out that they subtly honored their romance by wearing matching silver rings.
Richards didn’t announce the split on social media on Monday, as she shared a series of pictures of herself with longtime friend Faye Resnick in a series of Instagram Stories posts to wish Resnick a happy 66th birthday.
Kyle’s fame preceded her appearance in the Bravo series as she is Kathy Hilton’s sister and Paris Hilton’s aunt. Richards and her family came into the limelight in 2010 when she starred in Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The cast also included her sister Kim Richards, Adrienne Maloof, Camille Grammer, Taylor Armstrong and Lisa Vanderpump.
A dozen seasons later, only Kyle remains on the popular reality series (while Vanderpump has found tremendous success with her own spin-off, Vanderpump Rules).
The shocking breakup comes amid a TMZ report that Kyle “dated country singer” Wade following their split and that they “allegedly have matching heart tattoos.”

The show’s twelfth season centered on Richard’s handling of fragile family relationships – including with Kathy – while Umansky was unwavering in her support during this tense time.
“I’ve always supported her 100 percent no matter what she does,” Umansky told E! News in November. “If she wants to make up, I’m all for it.” If she’s not ready to make up and just has to stick it out for a while, I support her 100%.’
The timing of the split comes about a year and a half after the duo celebrated a marriage milestone with their 25th wedding anniversary.
“It means so much and we’re both incredibly proud of it,” Richards told Bravo Insider in November 2021. “And for me, it’s one of my greatest achievements.” I mean, I think it’s refreshing that being married for 25 years is a really big deal in this city. And we are really proud to be good role models for our daughters.”
Umansky said that their marriage was “great and beautiful” and that the long time of their marriage flew by.
“To be perfectly honest, it feels easy and it doesn’t seem like a long time,” he told Bravo Insider. “And you know, I definitely plan on spending the rest of my life with her.” So hopefully it’s at least 25 more years, maybe 50 more years.”
