A recent poll found that about 44 percent of participants believe healthcare in the United States is poor to very poor, as reported by MarketWatch.
“None of the respondents have a positive opinion of the US healthcare sector. Research shows that a lack of funds to pay for treatments and medicines reduces patients’ awareness of the system,” the website said on Saturday.
In June, 26 percent of people said they or a family member had been forced to stop medical treatment in the past three months because they couldn’t afford it, compared with 14 percent who said the same in June 2021.
“Respondents of women, Hispanics, and African descent were more likely to say they reduced medical supplies and medications to cover other costs over the past 12 months,” the same source added.
Conducted by Gallup and researchers from West Health, a Washington, DC-based collection of nonprofits, the survey asked more than 5,500 people to rate the US health care system based on its cost and ability to provide equitable care to all patients evaluate , and quality of care, among other factors.
