“A new coronation emoji has been unveiled, based on Saint Edward’s crown. It will appear on Twitter,” Buckingham said in a statement on Sunday.

One of the jewels of the British crown, the Crown of Saint Edward is reserved exclusively for the coronation of monarchs today.

This isn’t the first time emojis have been created for royal celebrations. Last June, to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee, an emoji in the shape of a corgi — the sovereign’s favorite dog breed — hit Twitter.

Four weeks before the coronation, the palace has also unveiled the route that King Charles and his wife Queen Consort Camilla will take between Buckingham and Westminster Abbey.

Surprisingly, until their return they will not be using the traditional ‘Gold State Coach’, the 260-year-old golden carriage that transports British sovereigns at major events. On the outward journey, Charles and Camilla opted for the more modern and comfortable “Diamond Jubilee State Coach”, with air conditioning if required.

During her coronation, Elizabeth II had made the round trip in the Gold State Coach, an experience she described as “terrible” due to the lack of comfort in the old carriage.

On the outward journey, his journey was 1.5 miles (2.5 kilometers) and took two hours to allow as many Britons as possible to see the procession.

Three days of celebration are celebrated from Saturday May 6th for the coronation of Charles III. planned. Following the ceremony on Saturday, Brits are invited to gather for the traditional neighborhood picnics on Sunday. Monday is a public holiday, the palace invites residents to associative activities.
