Annie Wersching, best known for her role on TV series 24, dies at 45

Actress Annie Wersching, best known for playing FBI agent Renee Walker on TV series 24, has died at the age of 45.

Wersching died Sunday morning in Los Angeles after a battle with cancer, her publicist told the Associated Press. The type of cancer was not specified.

Neil Druckmann, creator of The Last of Us video game, in which Wersching provided the voice of Tess, wrote on Twitter: “We have just lost a wonderful artist and human being. My heart is broken. Thoughts are with their loved ones.”

Actress Abigail Spencer, who starred with Wersching on the sci-fi series Timeless, tweeted: “We love you Annie Wersching. You will be deeply missed.”

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Wersching has appeared on dozens of television shows over the course of her two-decade career. Her first role was on Star Trek: Enterprise, and she later had recurring roles in the seventh and eighth seasons of 24, as well as Bosch, The Vampire Diaries, Marvel’s Runaways, The Rookie, and most recently in the second season of Star Trek: Picard as Borg Queen.

According to Deadline, Wershing was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and continued to work. She is survived by her husband, actor Stephen Full, and three sons. A GoFundMe page was set up to support the family.
