Pool, nicknamed the “Easter Bunny,” pleaded guilty to vandalism and theft on Tuesday (February 14). According to the prosecutor responsible for the case, the crime was committed intentionally. History does not reveal what the 32-year-old intended to do with his “extraordinary egg” theft. The value of the loot is estimated at 50,000 Canadian dollars (31,000 pounds sterling).
According to local police, Joby Pool used a metal mill to breach the doors of the industrial unit where the eggs were located. The thief would have been convicted of similar offenses in 2019.
Fortunately, the shipment was undamaged and the estimated 200,000 eggs will soon be on UK supermarket shelves.
