Tabla left CF Montreal in 2022 and joined Atlético. He has established himself as an important player for his new team. He scored seven goals and added four assists.
In a press release, the 24-year-old athlete said he had other offers, but Ottawa was “the only choice that came to mind.”
“He is the type of player who is worth the price of admission alone as he has proven his talent in winning the title in 2022,” said general manager Fernando Lopez. Ballou embodies Atlético's ambition and the quality talent we want to attract. He has a special connection with our fans and we think they will be thrilled with Ballou in Ottawa.”
Tabla, a product of the Impact Academy, showed great potential early on, which earned him a move to FC Barcelona in 2018. He spent several years in the lower ranks in Spain before returning home in 2020.
He played 32 games for Bleu-Blanc-Noir, scoring three goals and two assists.
