“But the robot opening like that is a nod to Kylie Minogue and I’m sick of everyone not giving her their flowers like she was the blueprint.”
Other commenters were more upset that Kylie (pictured) wasn’t given enough credit for the iconic idea: “But robot opening like that IS a nod to Kylie Minogue and I’m sick of everyone not giving her their flowers, as if she had been the blueprint.”‘
“Aren’t all the celebrities revisiting Metropolis?” one user asked, referring to the common depiction of films, television and pop culture using the iconography of the “Machine Person” character from the old sci-fi film.
“He’s not talking about the reference, but rather how Beyoncé’s robot suit is built with the exact same structure and function as Kylie’s in 2002,” another user explained.
But Beyoncé fans clapped back, with one saying: “This tour is about the Renaissance and referencing yourself,” referencing other times in the singer’s career where she dabbled in science fiction -aesthetics.

Another fan of both singers chimed in, “Okay, you gave me the flowers I deserved because obviously Bey was inspired in some ways, but the whole blueprint thing?” I definitely disagree. But I love Kylie.’
On her current tour, Beyoncé plays the tracks from her studio album “Renaissance” (2022) in order and interspersed with songs from her entire catalog.
The stage consists of a giant screen with a large “portal” in the middle and is equipped with sculptures, robotic arms and ultraviolet technology.
And then there’s Beyoncé herself, singing and dancing in a series of eye-catching ensembles while performing the hits.
Three and a half months after beginning her Renaissance Tour, Beyoncé will continue traveling across the United States leading up to her final show at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on October 1st.
Although nothing has been officially announced yet, there are rumors that Beyoncé will be bringing her tour Down Under later this year.
