It was built around 2,700 years ago as part of Jerusalem’s water system in the 8th century BC. built

The site served as a reservoir for the Gihon Spring, from which water was diverted and stored in underground tunnels.

According to the Bible, the Pool of Siloam was the place where Jesus performed the miracle of healing a man born blind.

It allows visitors to see the website and the progress of the release.

The public has already been able to enter a small portion of the pool, which has been fully excavated, but it will be a while before people can truly “walk in the footsteps of the Bible.”

Plans to open the Siloam Pool were announced just before the New Year by the Israel Antiquities Authority, the Israel National Parks Authority and the City of David Foundation.

“The Pool of Siloah in Jerusalem’s City of David National Park is a site of historical, national and international importance,” said Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion.

“After many years of anticipation, we will soon be able to uncover this important site and make it accessible to the millions of visitors who visit Jerusalem each year.”

The construction of the pool began during the reign of King Hezekiah, as quoted in the Bible in Book of Kings II, 20:20, according to the two Israeli authorities and the City of David Foundation.

“The excavation of the Pool of Siloam is of great importance to Christians around the world,” American pastor John Hagee, the founder and chairman of Christians United for Israel, told Fox News Digital.

“This is where Jesus healed the blind man (John 9), and this is where 2,000 years ago Jewish pilgrims cleaned themselves before entering the Second Temple.”

He added that the Pool of Siloam and the Pilgrims’ Way, both located in the City of David, are “among the Bible’s most inspiring archaeological attestations.”

Ze’ev Orenstein, director of international affairs at the City of David Foundation in Jerusalem, said the site matters to “billions around the world” and is being “made fully accessible for the first time in 2,000 years.”

He added that the millions of people who visit the City of David each year “would literally be able to follow in the footsteps of the Bible and connect to the roots of their heritage and identity.”

Three years ago, Israel unveiled the 2,000-year-old pilgrimage route after an £80million project to excavate it beneath a Palestinian neighborhood.

It was accidentally discovered in 2004 by workers repairing a broken pipe in a potato field.

The 350-meter-long ancient road served as the main thoroughfare for visitors to the ancient Jewish Temple, while Jesus is also said to have used it to reach the Temple in Jerusalem.

It led from the Pool of Siloam to the Temple, where pilgrims cleaned themselves before visiting.

According to the Bible, it was also the place where Jesus performed the miracle of healing a man born blind.

Why is the Temple Mount one of the most controversial religious sites in the world?

Known as one of the most contentious religious sites in the world, the Temple Mount is regularly the scene of clashes between Israelis and Palestinians.

Considered exceptionally sacred to both Jews and Muslims, the site lies in the shadow of Jerusalem’s stunning Mount of Olives.

The Temple Mount — known in Hebrew as Har Habayit and Haram al-Sharif, or “Noble Sanctuary” in Islam — has been the scene of religious tension for hundreds of years.

The property is on an elevated plaza above the Western Wall in Jerusalem, where both of Judaism’s ancient temples were located.

The area is also home to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and is considered the third holiest in Islam after Mecca and Medina.

It is also home to the gold-topped Dome of the Rock, one of Jerusalem’s most recognizable symbols.

Muslims believe that it was the place of ascension of Prophet Muhammad in the 7th century.

The Jewish connection to this site stems from the belief that it contains the “foundation stone” upon which, according to ancient scriptures, God created the earth.

It is viewed by the Jews as the place where God’s presence exists.

It is believed to be the site of many important events described in the Bible, including the binding of Isaac, Jacob’s dream, and the prayer of Isaac and Rebekah.
