Latin music and its most notable artists of the past year will be honored this Thursday, October 5, at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards at the Wasco Center stadium in Coral Gables, Florida.
Billboard Latin Music nominations and eventual winners are based on fan interactions with music, album and song sales, radio shows and tours tracked by Billboard and Luminate during the period ending August 13, 2019. 2022 through August 12, 2023, according to Billboard.
The artist with the most nominations this year is Mexico’s Peso Pluma, with 21 mentions in 15 categories, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Composer of the Year and Regional Mexican Album of the Year.
They are followed by Puerto Rican Bad Bunny and Mexican group Grupo Frontera with 15 mentions. Additionally, regional Mexican music is heavily represented not only in this category but throughout the list, a sign that it is becoming increasingly popular worldwide.
