It’s not every day that an NFL game is delayed by something unrelated to the weather, but that’s exactly what happened Sunday in New York.
The game was called off for the Bills-Jets with just under nine minutes left in the third quarter for about 12 minutes after that was a SkyCam malfunction at MetLife Stadium. According to the CBS broadcast team, one of the cables holding the camera snapped, causing the SkyCam to hover too close to the field.
And since you’re wondering, this is what a broken SkyCam looks like:
The reason for the long delay is that the camera had to be unhooked and then removed from the field.
Everyone was definitely enjoying the delay, with the Jets even joking about it.
Of course, the Jets probably weren’t smiling after the delay passed, and that’s because it killed the momentum they’d built in the third quarter. The delay came after the Jets ran their 11th game on a drive that took them inside the Buffalo 25-yard line. However, after the delay passed, the Jets drive fell apart thanks to a lost fumble from Zach Wilson.
Despite the fumbling, the Jets are still giving the Bills everything they can. The underdog Jets took a 17-14 lead late in the third quarter and if you’re looking for an updated result be sure to check out our live blog by clicking here.
