Bochra Manai a hoax by Valerie Plante –

Bochra Manaï, a hoax by Valérie Plante –

We will not untangle all the knots of the Middle East in a single miserable chronicle.

Let’s sharpen the angle, let’s return home.

On January 18, 2021, Bochra Manaï took office in the Plante government as the first commissioner for the fight against racism and systemic discrimination.

Invisible

The least we can say is that his appointment did not pass as a letter in the mail.

Before her appointment and after the passage of Law 21 on secularism, she stated that Quebec had become “a reference for racists and extremists around the world.” Hmm…

However, Valérie Plante did not give in.

What does a person with the title of Commissioner for Combating Racism and Discrimination do?

Perhaps naively, I assume that when a community is physically or otherwise attacked for what it is, the person will go to the front and take action.

Two Jewish schools in Côte-des-Neiges receive shots.

A Molotov cocktail is thrown at a synagogue in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.

Jewish students at Concordia are attacked for posting photos of Hamas hostages.

Adil Charkaoui addresses a crowd of 20,000 people with remarks that Prime Minister Legault describes as “incitement to hatred” against the Jewish community.

Voices are being raised across Montreal denouncing this rise in violent anti-Semitism.

I say “resurrected” because it has never been very far below the surface for centuries.

We do not criticize the policies of the Israeli government. Jews are attacked because they are Jews.

Valérie Plante says she is “horrified”.

Justin Trudeau awakens from a long sleep and fearfully discovers the real Canada.

What is Bochra Manaï doing in the meantime? Where is Bochra Manai?

Has anyone seen or heard of Bochra Manaï? Is Bochra Manaï on sick leave?

I think Mario Dumont is the first to raise the question: So what exactly is she paid for?

Finally Bochra Manaï comes out, who knows where. It definitely exists. She speaks too.

but what should I say? Listen to this:

“It is necessary not to give in to division, to put respect first and to keep the focus on our collective priorities, on what unites us and defines us as Montrealers.”

Isn’t that nice? Isn’t that a strong message?

efforts

And how does she justify her previous discretion?

Her thing is “inner change”.

“I am working with the entire municipal apparatus to accelerate the change towards an administration without racism and systemic discrimination. This mission lives within me and I dedicate all my efforts and energies to it.”

However, she was clearly visible and audible when it came to arguing that Bill 21 was an absolute disgrace.

Would it be more visible and audible if mosques were targeted? I’ll let you answer.
