A man in Bosnia today live streamed the murder of his ex-wife on Instagram before joining a killing spree that killed two other people and then himself.

The man, identified by Bosnian media as Nermin Sulejmanovic, from the northeastern Bosnian town of Gradacac, first posted a deeply disturbing video on Instagram on Friday morning telling viewers they were witnessing a murder live.

The video then shows him taking a gun and firing a bullet into a woman’s forehead. The desperate screams of the couple’s young daughter can also be heard in the video.

Sulejmanovic, 35, confirmed he had let the child live.

The alleged killer later said, “I warned everyone it was going to come to this.” She has been hiding my child for eight days.

“I’m waiting to load my gun and move on.”

According to local media, Sulejmanovic worked as a fitness trainer but was also a member of a gang and has been convicted multiple times for acts of violence, fights and his involvement in drug trafficking.

As police began searching for him after the murder, the suspect later posted another video to Instagram, in which he claimed to have shot at least two other people while trying to escape.

A police statement in the north-eastern Bosnian city of Tuzla said that three people were injured in addition to the three killed before the killer “committed suicide after being located and arrested”.

Police initially gave no further details, but added that people who wrote supportive messages while clicking on the man’s Instagram posts on Friday are being questioned and may face legal action.

“I have no words to describe what happened today in Gradacac,” said Nermin Niksic, Prime Minister of the Bosnian Federation.

“The killer ended up taking his own life, but no one can take the victims’ lives back.”

The authorities initially gave no further details or possible motives for the shootings.
