A boy named Brodie was very excited that day because he got a new fishing rod. He was keen to test it, so he made arrangements with his uncle to go to Lake Hartwell, South Carolina.
However, when he arrived on site and started fishing, the boy was in for a surprise. It didn’t take long for him take his first fish of the day at least that’s what he thought.
Screaming, he called for his uncle to help him catch the big fish. Even the man was surprised that Brodie had caught something so fast. After all, they were in open water for the first time, so the uncle did not think that the boy would catch anything.
But joy and excitement gave way to curiosity and fear. When they saw what was at the end of the fishing rod, the uncle and nephew were shocked at what they found. Still, they decided to touch it to make sure what it was and contact the authorities.
What did Brodie finally catch?
From the fury with which the rod was moving, the object caught appeared to be a very, very large fish. However, the surprise and fear were greater when they pulled the hook out of the water.
Noticing the weight of what was there, they encountered a purse. Very old but seemed too heavy to just be empty. And it was the decision to open it that surprised Brodie and his uncle.
When they unzipped something slipped out of here. It was completely soggy and discolored. That could only mean that it had been lying at the bottom of the lake for a long time. Brodie and her uncle found several items inside, including faded photographs and items showing the bag belonged to one Woman.

As Brodie’s uncle and little boy took a closer look at one of the photos that was drying, they recognized the woman featured in one of the photos. She was a friend of your uncle! Therefore, they entered Facebook to try to contact someone in the family and understand what was going on. Then it was time Surprise.
In exchange for contacting Brodie’s uncle, the woman stated that the bag was hers and that she thought it was her stolen. April Bolt, who owned the bag, explained to the boy that she had taken a boat to an event near Lake Hartwell. But that her purse was gone at some point.
She didn’t want to blame the children who were in the room with her, but she was pretty sure they were. She was very upset about losing her belongings and especially the photos of her son, who was only 15 months old at the time.
April Bolt was happy to get her stuff back, especially her photos which, even with water stains, still showed images.
However, Brodie was disappointed that he wanted to catch something with his new rod and ended up discovering an old purse that belonged to a family friend. The boy’s uncle tried to comfort him by telling him that the item he had retrieved was valuable too much, but the boy did not agree.
In the end, everything went well for the owner of the belongings, who finally got back the photos she had dreamed of so much.
