A California woman reportedly found over $36,000 in cash in a couch she received for free through Craigslist.

Vicky Umodu, of Colton, Calif., was looking for furniture for her new home when she came across an ad from a family giving away two sofas and a chair owned by a deceased relative, KABC-TV reported.

“So I clicked on it and the first thing that came to mind was this family that wanted to give away a sofa and everything in their bedroom… I said maybe it’s a gimmick so I called them,” Umodu told the Drain .

Umodu found out the ad was real and went to collect her new furniture for her home, according to the report. When Umodu returned to her seat, she examined the sofa and made a shocking discovery.

Local news reported that she found envelopes with cash inside and began “screaming”. According to outlets, she returned the money to the family who gave her the furniture.

“God has been kind to me and my children, they are all alive and well, I have three beautiful grandchildren, so what can I ever ask of God?” Umodu told KABC-TV.

The family eventually gave Umodu $2,200 and said they would reportedly pay for her new refrigerator. The family also said they found more cash hidden in their late loved one’s belongings.
