Camagüey, December 22.- The Territorial Program of Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development of Tourism in Camagüey, which emerged in the current year 2022, confirmed the importance of these pillars in promoting the so-called smoke-free industry.

This was stated by the Delegate of the Minister of Tourism in the Camagüey Territory, Yunesky Canteli González, at the meeting to balance the work of the year, when he expressed the priority of restoring the Santa Lucía beach based on new commercialization perspectives. .

The members of the resilient blue tourism project in the context of climate change in the northern resort, led by auxiliary researcher Rebeca González López del Castillo, presented the main results three months after their implementation, which aimed to take a different place in this area, considering negative impacts, including natural phenomena.

For her part, Lisbeth Font Vila, delegate of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment in Camagüey, reiterated the importance of the exchange of knowledge and experiences to promote the sector, considered the engine of the Cuban economy, with the necessary coordination and participation between all actors involved.

Likewise, the contributions of the Hermanos Gómez Training Centers in Tourism and the Center for Multidisciplinary Tourism Studies in preparation and research were highlighted with concrete contributions from the sector’s problem bank.

Camagüey has a hotel complex with more than two thousand five hundred rooms, most of which are managed by the Cubanacán Hotel Group, capacities in which better exploitation is planned, taking into account the territorial program of science, technology and innovation for the sustainable development of the visit.
