Cameron Diaz will star alongside Jamie Foxx on Netflix's Back in Action, and the Charlie's Angels star is defending her co-star against claims he found difficult to accept.

In a new interview, Diaz breaks her silence about working with Foxx and reveals that starring alongside the Django Unchained star would have an impact on her career.

“I really hate everything that was said about our set back then,” Diaz said on the Lipstick on the Rim podcast about the rumors that circulated in the media during the filming of “Back in Action.” “You just want to scream like, 'What are you talking about?'”

Diaz continued to praise Foxx, adding, “Jamie is kind of the cheerleader for the whole crew. Everyone loves him. We have so much fun with him on set and he is just a professional on every level.”

“Back in Action” marks Diaz's return to film following 2014's “Annie,” in which she starred opposite Foxx. Diaz also co-starred with Foxx in 1999's “Any Given Sunday.”

“Jamie is the best. I love this guy so much. He’s such a special person and he’s so talented, he’s so much fun,” she added. “The problems that arose throughout production are natural things that happen. But nothing was delayed, except of course towards the end. And I can’t talk about that.”

Foxx suffered a “medical complication” in April from which he continues to recover, which makes Diaz happy.

“When I see and hear people trying to bring another person down like that… [Jamie is] so classy,” she said. “He says no. Just leave her [talk].' Still, it really made me angry.”

Back in Action is a film directed by Seth Gordon and co-written with Brendan O'Brien and starring Foxx and Diaz. The film also stars Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts and Rylan Jackson.
