Saturday’s snowstorm caused multiple headaches for travelers at airports in the Northeastern United States and in Toronto, where the city’s terminal building was partially closed. On Sunday, several flights in Montréal-Trudeau were delayed or canceled due to weather conditions the previous day.
“We were supposed to leave at 8am but it was pushed back to 4:15pm and we weren’t notified. They informed us that the flight was delayed an hour and then another hour. We got here at 5:30am.”
“When we arrived we said we thought our flight was delayed. The lady automatically told us to come to the counter to give us discounts for lunch and dinner.”
According to Dominic Daoust, an airline pilot, the delays and cancellations are similar to previous years.
“There are pretty typical days. It is certain that we had a difficult winter, that is, the big peaks, whether in the holiday season or spring break, there were weather systems that swept the same corridors,” he points out.
Efforts are being made at Montréal-Trudeau to make the facilities as accessible as possible in the event of flight cancellations.
