Catherine Tyldesley is celebrating her 40th birthday with a relaxing weekend at a country house hotel with her family after canceling her big party following THAT Cake Gate scandal

Catherine Tyldesley has shared a glimpse into her low-key birthday weekend after canceling her big bash following a “bizarre” cake argument with a baker.

The former Coronation Street star, 39, was embroiled in a “cake-gate” scandal last month after a baker rejected a PR’s request to supply free cakes for the actress’ big party, scheduled for January 1. September was planned.

After Catherine became embroiled in a heated online controversy, she scrapped her plans for the party and instead opted for a quieter celebration of the birthday milestone.

Instead, Catherine and her family stayed at the Mitton Hall Hotel, where they enjoyed a relaxing weekend in the country in favor of the lavish party.

Catherine gave a glimpse into the celebrations, posting pictures of an intimate family meal and stay at the Clitheroe, Lancashire venue.

Catherine also shared a snap of her private dining room, which was decorated with bunting and aluminum foil “40” balloons.

As well as the trip to the country house, Catherine also dined with her closest friends, including former Corrie co-star Samia Longchambon.

It was recently reported that Catherine was “blindsided” by the online uproar over a heated row over free cake.

Catherine had hired party planners NVRLND to organize it, but they caused controversy when they asked an independent bakery to bake a large birthday cake, a smaller birthday cake for Tyldesley’s husband and 100 cupcakes for free.

The company told Three Little Birds Bakery’s Rebecca Severs that payment for the order would be “in the form of a promotion,” but she hit back and rejected the offer, saying her employees “can’t feed their children, when they are exposed.” ‘Instagram.’

The party has since been canceled after there was a major backlash against Catherine over the request, reports the Mirror.

A source close to the actress said: “Cath was caught off guard by Cakegate and found the whole thing very disturbing, so she opted for a quieter celebration.”

“She doesn’t blame NVRLND, but the whole situation left a sour taste in her mouth, so she thought it best to call it off.”

NVRLND did not tell Ms. Severs whose birthday party the request was for, saying only that it was for a “well-known celebrity.”

Ms Severs shared her response with the PR who asked for the cakes at the height of the cost of living crisis, saying: “I’m so sorry to hear that your client has fallen on such hard times that he can’t do it .” can afford to pay small businesses for their products.

“Unfortunately, since my mortgage lender does not accept payments “in the form of advertising on their social networks” and my employees cannot provide their children with Instagram exposure, I must decline your very generous offer.”

She received an outpouring of support from the public online and later joked that her bakery offers “delicious cakes and a generous dose of sarcasm when needed.”

One social media user commented: ‘Best reaction! Good for sticking with it!’

Another added: “Good for you!” while a third wrote: “Love it!”

A fourth commented: “I’ve found a new follower here just because this response represents exactly the level of business-like sarcasm I’m going for. ‘Fabulous reaction.’
