2022 NFL Draft: Skyy Moore, Malik Willis Among Day 2’s Top Value Picks | NFL.com

Western Michigan · WR

Kansas City chiefs

Round 2 No. 54 overall

Moore was 23rd overall on my big board prior to the draft. It’s exceptional value for the Chiefs to pick up a key player 31 selections later, and that pick makes them one of two teams that appear on both my Day 1 and Day 2 value lists. Pro Football Focus gave Moore a receiving grade of 91.8 last season, the second-highest grade in the FBS among receivers. My models compared him to Texan Brandin Cooks, in large part due to his consistency as a route runner. Moore had 262 yards from contact in 2021 (ranked ninth on FBS, per PFF) and forced 26 missed tackles in receptions (most on FBS).

Western Michigan WR Skyy Moore (No. 54 overall)

Cincinnati S Bryan Cook (No. 62 overall)

Wisconsin LB Leo Chenal (No. 103 overall)

Class Day 1: A

Analysis: The Chiefs got excellent value for money at Moore (once again). He’ll be great on the Kansas City offense and will likely have a better career than some of the wideouts picked before him. Cook is a hard-hitting safety that covers a lot of ground, making him perfect for a team that needs to strengthen their secondary depth. Chenal was too good a value at the end of the third round. He will help as a blitzer, against the run and in special teams.

Kansas City Chiefs draft Skyy Moore in latest WR addition since Tyreek Hill trade | ESPN

“He’s reliable,” Chiefs Assistant General Manager Mike Borgonzi: “He’ll run the right distances and he’ll catch the football.”

Moore had two seasons left in Western Michigan but said Friday he was ready to play in the NFL.

“I mentally clicked on all cylinders,” he said. “Going out every Saturday – I did my best. I felt ready for the next step.”

2) Mecole Hardman: Everyone knew the Chiefs would draft a wide receiver after trading Tyreek Hill to Miami in March, and they got their second-round man: Western Michigan wide receiver Skyy Moore (No. 54). He’s fast, dynamic, and confident, which means he’ll likely have Hardman’s job in a few years. For the record, Hardman is a good player. The problem is, he has yet to develop into a great player for a team that drafted him second round in 2019. Now entering the final year of his rookie deal, he is fully aware that this is his time to shine. He’ll probably even play his best football knowing what’s at stake. Even so, the odds of him staying in Kansas City beyond 2022 seem high, especially since Moore has the potential to do a lot more on this offensive line.

The Titans trade for Liberty QB Malik Willis in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft | NFL.com

The Tennessee Titans picked the Liberty quarterback Friday night with the 86th overall pick.

The Titans jumped the board to snag Willis in the third round, sending the 90th and 169th picks to Las Vegas. The Raiders picked Memphis guard Dylan Parham at number 90.

Possibly the most talked about player in the draft, Willis oozes physical strength and enters the NFL as one of the most gifted athletes at the quarterback position. The Liberty product has a cannon as an arm and can make NFL shots with ease. In two years as a starter, he had 5,107 passing yards and 47 touchdowns with 18 interceptions.

2022 NFL Draft: Packers trade for NDSU’s Christian Watson and add wide receiver help for Aaron Rodgers | CBS sports

The Packers added a wide receiver in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft despite trading No. 1 target Davante Adams earlier this offseason. But they didn’t ignore the position on day two, trading 19 picks to pick Christian Watson of North Dakota State in 34th place overall. Watson, 22, whose father Tim was drafted in the sixth round by the Packers in 1993, will become Green Bay’s pickingest wide receiver since star quarterback Aaron Rodgers took over under center.

Rodgers told The Pat McAfee Show Thursday night that he expects the Packers to examine the remaining receiver prospects in the second and third rounds of the draft, highlighting previous finds from day two — none more notable than Adams. Now Watson is in tow as a potential early contributor to veteran starters Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, with Adams traded to the Raiders and speedster Marquez Valdes scantling free-handed to the Chiefs.

The Chiefs’ pick for Cincinnati’s Bryan Cook is rated 62

Ron: I really believed in this safety class going into the draft, and Cook was the last one in the front group that I was really interested in. He’s profiled as a strong safety, a boxer who will be a plus against the run – and competent as a reporting actor in what should be a limited role.

That pick keeps the Chiefs safe for the next three seasons, with Cook and Justin Reid making a really complementary pairing. Reid’s free safety skills are now fully usable, while Cook’s strong safety style takes the other spot. Juan Thornhill is now entering a very important contract year – even more important than before.

Cook will at least be a solid starter. They love that on pick 62. I think I should have looked more closely at the edge and receiver positions.
