Actress and comedian Claudia Rodrigues is hopeful of a new treatment for the problem she’s struggled with for nearly three decades. He is preparing for a R$26 million operation to be performed in the United States to cure multiple sclerosis. In a reveal to O Globo newspaper columnist Patrícia Kogut, the actress said the trial was scheduled to take place between the months of March and April next year.

“I’m going to heal myself. This surgery will heal my aftermath. It’s great,” said the actress, excited about the prospect. Claudia was diagnosed with this in 2000 and seven years later she was fired from TV Globo to pursue treatment. Adriane Bonato, the actress’ friend and businesswoman, was the one who detailed how the procedure will work: “There are people who couldn’t walk anymore, they used a scooter… They had this surgery and they walked again,” he said .

“The doctor discovered that in people with degenerative diseases, the canal between the eyes, above the nose, is blocked. So there is no cooling for the brain. The cells die. With this procedure, he maps the body, sees what vitamins are missing, etc. to balance the person. After collecting this information, the patient is in a machine, as if it were an oven, with a helmet that receives electromagnetic waves and neural stimuli,” he informed.

According to the businesswoman, however, the procedure takes place in three steps, is noninvasive and does not require anesthesia. The prognosis is that the patient will be discharged within six days of presentation. Although seemingly simple, the operation is impressive for its cost: US$5 million, which equates to R$26.6 million at the current exchange rate. During the conversation with the columnist, Adriane said the payment is being negotiated but that they have plans to recover the costs.
