After announcing the postponement of the shows planned for this month in Brazil, Coldplay already has new dates to return to the country in 2023. The band has postponed the tour to the month of March.
In São Paulo, the shows originally scheduled at Allianz Parque have been moved to Morumbi Stadium due to venue availability and will now take place on March 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 17th and 18th, 2023 . Rio de Janeiro will take place on March 25th and 26th at the Nilton Santos Engenhão Stadium
A statement released today on Live Nation’s social networks, in charge of the tour in the country, informs:
“In São Paulo, due to venue availability, the shows will be moved from Allianz Parque to Estádio do Morumbi and will now take place on March 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 17th and 18th, 2023. All tickets to São Paulo remain valid without the need to change them. Information on the location of the new seats will be emailed directly to ticket holders.
“The Rio de Janeiro shows will remain at the Nilton Santos Engenhão Stadium on the new dates, March 25 and 26, 2023. Previously purchased tickets will be valid for the new dates with no action required from the ticket holders.”
The band postponed eight shows that would be performing in Brazil in October due to a “severe” lung infection that affected singer Chris Martin.
The musician will have to rest for at least three weeks, fans were told in a note on social media on October 4. Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres world tour resumes on October 25th.
“To everyone in Brazil who has been looking forward to these shows, we are so sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience and we are so grateful for your understanding at this challenging time as we need to prioritize Chris’ health,” it says in the announcement of the postponement.
