Coleen Nolan revealed it was “a huge achievement” when she found out her sister Linda's tumors had shrunk during her heartbreaking battle with breast cancer.
The Loose Women panellist, 58, admitted she prepared for the worst when she went to hospital with her older sister, 64, for a check-up.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Monday in front of presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, Coleen said: “She's just doing so well.”
“I said to her, ‘I’m not sure you’re going to piss me off with this, and this is just great publicity.’ Because she looked great.
“I have to be honest, when she went for the scans this time, we thought – and we didn't express it – but we thought, 'I don't think this is going to be a good result.'

“She seemed to have sunk a little bit and then her.” [the doctors] “came back and said it went down and shrunk, it was some kind of elevator.”
Linda recently revealed she is “enjoying every moment” after learning her tumors have shrunk.
Last week Linda, who was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in her hip in 2017, wrote about the news in The Mirror and revealed: “I got the results of my scans.” As my appointment was later than usual my head started racing. .
“There's always that thing just around the corner that makes you know your life could change in a few minutes.” But it was good news. The tumors didn't grow…
“In fact, the consultant said these precious words: 'There is still some shrinkage.' I mean, I wish it was around my waist, but I'll take it. I will definitely take it!…
“Of course the tumors are still there and making themselves felt. The consultant explained that the memory loss, hearing loss and mild stuttering that I suffered were due to a tumor affecting the area in my brain associated with cognitive behavior.
On her big Christmas she said, “So this is what I’m going to do.” And just go ahead and enjoy it. We put up two Christmas trees and I'm ready to take a knee. It’s going to be a big Christmas without any waste.”
Last month Linda admitted she was “crying her eyes out” at the thought that this Christmas could be her last.

The singer shared a heartbreaking update about her battle with terminal cancer in an emotional new interview.
She was first diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2005 before being given the all-clear in 2006. Unfortunately, the disease returned in 2017 and then spread to her liver and brain.
Linda has spoken about how little time she may have left after admitting this Christmas could be her last.
Speaking to Woman magazine, she said: “When I wake up, I try to believe that it's another day that I can enjoy, rather than that it's another day that's getting closer.”
“Sometimes it's hard, but I never want cancer to win.” Sometimes I slide down the wall and cry my eyes out because I'm having a bad day, but 99.9 percent of the time I'm fine.
'[Christmas will be] something very special because I don't know if I'll see it next year. So it's definitely all more poignant. [My Christmas wish] is to be here.
“It’s important for me now to make memories and enjoy the time I have left.”
Linda previously spoke about how she is suffering from memory loss while battling the disease as she spoke about forgetting her niece Ciara's name.
She wrote in The Mirror: “I had to reach out to Coleen's son Jake's girlfriend and ask her what my niece, Coleen's daughter, is called.”
“My memory has been failing for some time, but this moment was as bad as it gets.”
But Linda insisted she would not “panic” or “live in fear” amid her struggles as she told how she wanted to make the most of time with her loved ones.
“I'm not going to panic because if I panic, the cancer wins,” she insisted. “I will not live in fear because it will take over and I need to focus on making the most of the moment.”

Linda recently revealed that she doesn't think she will survive cancer a third time, saying it has become a “way of life” for her.
“I rang the bell twice. And I know now that I will never call again,” she wrote heartbreakingly in the Mirror.
'[Cancer has] Become a way of life now. I have my cancer book – a title I never thought I would have in my library – which records all my blood work, weight, etc. (I have lost 4kg, although I think that I could live on what's left for a while). '
The TV personality said she is not “angry” about her fate and that everyone on the “chemo ward assembly line” is following their own “path,” noting that her path is “straight ahead” for now.
In March, Linda revealed her cancer had spread to her brain while giving an update on her battle with cancer.
Doctors told her that almost 20 years after she was first diagnosed with cancer, she had two large masses surrounded by smaller ones in her brain.
Linda underwent a mastectomy and 18 rounds of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.
In 2017, Linda was diagnosed with incurable secondary cancer in her hip and in 2020 she confirmed she had liver cancer.
