A dramatic moment was witnessed on Mexican territory in the last few hours when a group of Cuban migrants in their desperate attempt to reach the Rio Grande were pursued by the police of that country.
In Primer Impacto program journalist Ricardo Arambarri’s images, these Cuban migrants are seen running away in desperation while being pursued by Mexican security forces.
It turned out that the West Indies were in the area, waiting for the right moment to cross the Rio Grande, when the police suddenly showed up. From that moment on, the drama ensued and everything spiraled out of control.

Some stumbled and fell, others managed to get into the water of the dangerous river with what little breath they had left. One of the Cuban migrants confronted one of the officers to allow a woman to escape. The sacrifice was not in vain, because although he was arrested, the girl was able to arrive.
According to the journalist, about 50 Cuban migrants crossed the Rio Grande at that harrowing moment. Given the large number of people, it was “not possible” for the Mexican police to track them all.

In the meantime, it should be remembered that another person’s lifeless body was recently found near the river while attempting to reach US soil. Although he has not provided nationality or identity, it is believed that he is Cuban or Venezuelan.
The misery imposed by the Castro dictatorship has led countless West Indies to seriously jeopardize their physical integrity, but with the firm intention of knowing a freedom unknown to the great majority; a freedom stolen in Cuba more than 60 years ago when elderly dictator Fidel Castro came to power.
