An altercation between several people at the Le Dagobert bar in Quebec City led to the arrest of two suspects overnight from Saturday to Sunday.
In video posted to Worldstar Quebec Canada’s Instagram page, two men – one armed with a bottle – can be seen attacking a third with punches and kicks.
The incident happened late Saturday evening in a well-known restaurant on Grande Allée. But it wasn’t until later that night, around 1:30 a.m., that the authorities became aware of the situation.
“Witnesses told the police that there was a violent altercation in the bar. That’s where we intervened,” explains Marie-Pier Rivard, spokeswoman for the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).
“High risk” surgery.
According to the same witnesses, between two and four people involved in the altercation were later evicted from the bar. The information gathered also indicated that these individuals were carrying a firearm.
“The police therefore went to try to locate the suspects who boarded a taxi,” explains Ms. Rivard, stressing that it was a “high-risk operation” due to the possibility of a firearm being present.
The searched vehicle was quickly intercepted and the four suspects inside and the driver were all searched.
Two arrests
No firearms were ultimately found on the people. However, two of them were arrested in connection with crimes that had nothing to do with this type of weapon, the SPVQ specified without giving any further details.
The two men are aged 27 and 34.
Since in this case no victim of the dispute has reported to Dagobert, an arrest in this sense has not been made for the time being. The extent of her injuries is also unknown.
Police are therefore asking anyone with information regarding this incident to send it to him at 418-641-2447.
