The “Danger!” crew has a new chief honcho to answer to.
Following the scandalous departure of former executive producer and occasional host Mike Richards last year, British producer Michael Davies is now the series’ newest showrunner.
The 56-year-old Embassy Row production president announced Thursday that he has accepted the job offered by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
“Today I am pleased to announce that I have accepted Sony’s offer to become the full-time Executive Producer on the series,” Davies wrote on the Jeopardy! page. to blog.
He continued, “I am both honored and humbled by the trust that the studio and staff have placed in me. In the coming months, the scope of our plans will become clear. But for now, I just want to say thank you to everyone on the Jeopardy! team. community for your phenomenal support.”
Previous projects Davies has worked on include Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?, Wife Swap and GSN’s revival of The Newlywed Game.
Davies was announced as interim executive producer in August after Richards, 46, was fired from the gig.

Richards was booted out of Jeopardy! as host and producer after a series of sexist comments he made on an old podcast resurfaced.
Apologizing for his words in a statement, he said: “It is humbling to face a terribly embarrassing moment of misjudgment, thoughtlessness and insensitivity from almost a decade ago.”
“Looking back, of course, there is no apology for the comments I made on this podcast and I am deeply sorry,” he added.

Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings are both on deck to continue their hosting duties for the remainder of Season 38.
Once that is complete, Sony will make a decision on a permanent full-time host in July. Longtime presenter Alex Trebek died in November 2020.
Fans were not big supporters of Richard’s presence on the show during his brief stint as host, arguing that other stars such as LeVar Burton, Katie Couric, Anderson Cooper or Dr. Oz take the reins of the game show.
Richards has been hired to executive produce Jeopardy! and “Wheel of Fortune” in 2019.
