(that would be understandable: I didn’t have a mask)». Daria Bignardi writes a long post on social media in which she complains that nobody gave her a ride on her “hitchhiking” request. Here is the journalist’s story on her profile Instagram: “I was wondering why on July 27 at noon in 30 degrees no one stopped for 43 minutes to pick up a girl hitchhiking – with a shopping bag – at the bottom of a sunny road up a two kilometer climb. The nicer males made an annoyed gesture with their hand on the steering wheel, as if to say “done now” (me too!). The only friendly person was a girl who slowed down to tell me that she was late to pick up the child, everyone else stared motionless and frowned at the street ».

Bignardi concludes her story like this: “It occurred to me that we had hitchhiked from Ferrara in five girls with backpacks to our high school, only twenty kilometers from here. The backpack is sexier than the tote bag, okay, but I don’t think the topic is that, in my opinion, just a kind of closure, distrust, shyness and laziness are common in live relationships. (In the end, after 43 minutes, a Sardinian acquaintance driving in the opposite direction stopped and kindly lost ten minutes to turn around and take me) ».
