Dentist James Toliver Craig, 25, has been arrested on suspicion of killing his wife Angela, 43, by poisoning and then running away with his lover in Colorado, United States. The victim had six children with the suspect.
According to The Guardian, Angela fell ill on Wednesday (15) and James took her to hospital. She experienced severe headaches and dizziness and had to be intubated in the hospital after three days. On Saturday (18th) she was brain dead.
The medical team called the police after traces of potassium cyanide (which is toxic and can cause death) were found in the woman’s body. Police confirmed that the drinks Angela had consumed contained arsenic.
Investigators found James’ emails to contain intimate messages he exchanged with his lover. He even traveled to Texas with this woman while Angela was still in the hospital.
Five years ago, according to Angela’s sister, James would have tried to poison her to stay with other women. At the time, Angela was hospitalized but recovered.
James denies poisoning his wife but remains in prison.
