A dentist from Colorado, United States, was arrested last Sunday at the age of 19 on suspicion of poisoning his wife. According to local police, James Toliver Craig, 45, killed the victim, Angela Craig, with whom he had six children, to start a new life with his lover.

According to a report in the New York Post, police have reported that the dentist took his 43yearold wife to the hospital on Wednesday night, 15th, after she complained of dizziness and a severe headache.

Shortly after arriving at the hospital, her condition rapidly deteriorated and she was placed on a ventilator in the intensive care unit (ICU) before being pronounced brain dead, investigators reported.

Doctors decided to remove the victim from life support on Sunday morning the 19th, but suspected his rapid deterioration and reported this to the police.

Aurora Police’s Major Crimes Homicide Unit launched an investigation and found the victim had been poisoned allegedly by her husband, who claimed to have taken her to the hospital.

“As the suspicious details of this case came to light, our team of police officers and homicide detectives worked tirelessly to uncover the truth behind the victim’s sudden illness and death,” Department Chief Mark Hildebrand said in a statement.

“It was quickly discovered that this was a heinous, complex and calculated murder,” he added. After the victim’s death, police obtained a warrant and arrested Craig early Sunday morning. He was charged with murder.

Research indicates that Craig took his mistress, a Texas orthodontist with whom he exchanged “sexually explicit” emails, to Denver. [cidade em que morava no Colorado]while the woman lay dying in the hospital.

According to police, the dentist was also found to have searched the internet for poisons and watched videos on YouTube entitled “Top 5 Undetectable Poisons” and “How to Make Poison”.

He then bought a canister of toxic potassium cyanide, which Daily Beast said was delivered to his office just two days before his wife was hospitalized and died.

The man then put the substance in his wife’s preworkout shakes to poison her. Investigators claim there is no evidence his lover could have known about the dentist’s alleged murderous plot and that she is not a suspect in the case.

However, Angela herself may have suspected that her husband had tried to poison her before he died. When she started showing symptoms and going to the hospital for the first time in early March, she texted her husband that she was feeling “high.”

In addition, a dental worker told investigators that during another visit to the hospital, just days before her death, the victim made allegations that her husband had poisoned her.
