Hayley Erbert, the dancer and wife of “Dancing With The Stars” judge Derek Hough, underwent an emergency craniectomy after experiencing symptoms while on a dance tour with her husband.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Hough revealed that his wife of just three months “became disoriented and taken to the hospital” during their Symphony of Dance tour. A craniectomy is a type of surgical procedure that removes part of the skull to relieve extra pressure on the brain.

“At the end of last night’s big performance in Washington, DC, my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital,” he wrote. “She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma due to a ruptured blood vessel and underwent an emergency craniectomy. Her condition is stable.”

“I would like to thank the first responders and medical staff who cared for her and continue to care for her. I ask for your prayers and positivity during this time,” Hough added.

Hough and Erbert, 27, married in August; A month later her Symphony of Dance tour started.

On Tuesday, Hough helped crown Xochitl Gomez as the winner of Season 32 of DWTS. Hough’s Instagram is full of positive thoughts and well wishes from other pros and celebrities from the show.

Like her husband, Erbert was a dancer most of her life. While in high school, she competed on the tenth season of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance and was one of the top three women. She then appeared at awards shows and films alongside Carrie Underwood and Paula Abdul.

She accompanied Hough and his sister Julianne on two of their tours and later joined the DWTS cast.
