Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez presided over the Credentials Ceremony at the Palace of the Revolution, recognizing the achievement of six new Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to our country.
Accompanied by Politburo Member and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, the Head of State welcomed His Excellency Mrs. Yeshika Rosario Crespo Velásquez as Ambassador of Sister Plurinational State Bolivia.
“It is an honor for me to be in the country of Martí and Fidel,” were his first words as he welcomed the Cuban President, adding that he would work tirelessly to further strengthen ties between the two brother countries. The Cuban President told him that “the ambassador of a sister nation will be received, which is a great honor.”

Díaz-Canel then received the new Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Humphrey Hesron Polepole, to whom he reaffirmed the rich history that binds both countries, marked by 61 years of bilateral relations and cooperation based on the figures of Fidel and Julius nyerere

The President then exchanged views with His Excellency Mr. Paul Chikawa, who will act as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zimbabwe, who said that “It was a dream to be in Cuba and I dream no more.”
Díaz-Canel also thanked the government and people of the African nation for their support in permanently condemning the US blockade of Cuba and conveyed his greetings to the sister country’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

During the protocol ceremony, His Excellency Mr. Rony Abiú Chalí-López presented his accreditation as Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala, to whom the President reiterated the full support of the Government and the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the development of his work.
The diplomat reiterated his commitment to strengthening trade relations between the two countries, paying particular tribute to Cuba’s advances in science.

With the greetings of the Bolivarian people and in particular its President Nicolás Maduro Moros to Cuba and the commitment to further strengthen the relations between two sister nations, His Excellency Mr. Orlando Miguel Maneiro Gaspar was presented as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to our Country.
Díaz-Canel referred to the current difficult world scenario and the role played by sister Venezuela in the Latin American context, which is under constant attack by the US government along with Nicaragua and Cuba.

After congratulating the Filipino people on the celebration of Independence Day on June 12, the President received the Ambassador of the Asian Nation, His Excellency Lilybeth Rodríguez Deapera, who recalled the long years of relations between the two countries. The head of state expressed interest in further developing bilateral economic and trade relations.
During the presentation of the credentials of the newcomers to Cuba, President Miguel Díaz-Canel reiterated the invitation to all to attend the Group of 77 plus China Summit, to be held in Havana next September.
