Diversity shared a post on their official Instagram page and said, “IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!! Due to an injury sustained during the matinee show, the Diversity performance will not take place tonight.”
“Please hold on to your tickets and wait for more information in the next few days.”
Ashley later posted a video on Instagram in which he explained that he was having “difficulty” walking after the incident.
He said: “We are all absolutely disappointed with tonight's show in Sheffield… Due to the injury I am currently having trouble walking, let alone dancing, which is why we had to postpone the show so close to the show.”
“But we are doing our best to resolve the issue and get the shows back on track as quickly as possible.”
“We are very sorry for everyone who has already made their way to the venue. I promise you this is not a decision taken lightly. And I know how disappointing it is when a show is canceled at the last minute. If there had been another way, we would have done it.
He concluded by saying, “I'm sorry again, I'll update you soon. Lots of love.”

This comes after Dancing On Ice viewers called for Johnny Weir to be a permanent judge on the ITV show as he replaced Ashley during Sunday's show.
American figure skater Johnny, 39, made his judging debut during Musicals Week and performed in front of fans.
Professional dancer Ashley, 35, announced during last Sunday's show that he was taking a break from DOI to tour with his dance group Diversity.
Ashley will return to the judging panel alongside Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in time for the show's semi-finals.
Johnny immediately won over the audience with his intelligent reviews and fans were impressed by his constructive comments.
Viewers called for the pro skater to be drafted as Ashley's permanent replacement, writing: “Can we please keep Johnny?”

On Monday, Johnny broke his silence on the news, telling his Instagram followers: “Good morning everyone, I've just jumped on the ice for my final training session before I head off to London tomorrow to take part in Dancing On Ice, which one is.” one of the biggest skating TV shows in the world.
“In all my 27 years of skating I’ve never performed on the ice in the UK so I’m looking forward to that and to seeing all the couples perform and sitting next to Jane and Christopher!”
