DJ Play A Christmas Song Cher releases the first single

“DJ Play A Christmas Song”: Cher releases the first single from her Christmas album

Forget the bells, the little red-nosed reindeer and the Christmas trees with which Cher sings about the holidays in her own way DJ plays a Christmas songthe first excerpt from his first career album.

It would have been a misunderstanding for the singer to think that she would have resorted to the usual clichés when presenting this new project. The 77-year-old icon borrows sounds reminiscent of Believe — think the now-famous vocal distortions and catchy beat — to inspire his fans to decorate their Christmas tree with disco balls (good old disco balls) this year.

“It’s not a Christmas album like the ones your mothers have heard,” Cher warned with a laugh on Good Morning Britain recently.

In a duet with Darlene Love

Obviously the rest of the album, due out October 20th, will explore certain more classic themes. Although the full list of tracks that will make up it has not yet been officially announced, we know that Cher will revisit the Christmas classic (Baby Please Come Home), accompanied by American singer Darlene Love.

The latter confirmed this duo on her social networks and said that it was “an honor” for her to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this timeless success in the company of the superstar.

“I’m so happy we have the chance to make pretty faces smile this holiday season,” she said on her Instagram account.

Duets with Michael Bublé, Tyga, Cyndi Lauper and Stevie Wonder are also confirmed. Other original Christmas songs round off this album with the simple title “Christmas”.

In short, something that will make the holidays even better this year.

  • The Christmas album will be released on October 20th.
