The much-anticipated return of hit ITV skate show Dancing On Ice returns on Sunday.

A number of big names, including Coronation Street's Adam Thomas and Love Island's Amber Davies, have strapped on their skates in the hope of being crowned the new champion.

The pair are joined by S Club singer Hannah Spearritt, radio presenter and former Big Brother contestant Adele Roberts, actress and TV presenter Claire Sweeney, comedian Lou Sanders, Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire and former EastEnders Ricky Norwood.

Boxer Ricky Hatton, Olympian Greg Rutherford and Emmerdale actress Roxy Shahidi will also skate on the ITV show.

But what do the star-studded participants get for their appearance in the successful ice skating show?

During the nine-week series, the stars hope to impress judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and keep viewers in the competition.

However, ITV previously confirmed that there would be no cash prize for the celebrity who wins Dancing On Ice.

But the skating star will receive a trophy to take home after being crowned winner.

Holly Willoughby will make her big television return to present the new series alongside Deal or No Deal presenter Stephen Mulhern.

Stephen will replace Phillip Schofield, who left ITV last year after admitting on This Morning to having an affair with a younger male former colleague.

Holly also left hit daytime show This Morning in October 2023 after 14 years on the sofa.

It comes as Eddie The Eagle Edwards could be the one to beat on Dancing On Ice this year as he is announced to be one of the top contenders ahead of the show's launch date.

The 59-year-old British ski jumper, who finished last at the 1988 Winter Olympics, made a big impression during rehearsals alongside professional skater Vicky Ogden.

A show insider told The Sun: “Eddie is keen to downplay his chances but he looks really good and could be the one to beat this year.”

Eddie was brought in as a last-minute replacement after Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb broke his ankle in the first week of rehearsals and had to withdraw from the competition.

Eddie, whose real name is Michael Edwards, said he felt pressure to do well on the ITV show but insisted his skiing experience was of no use at the rink.

He explained: “When I ski, I automatically put myself in a certain position. This position is not a good position for skating, which is why I feel like I'm falling on my face.”

The Olympian was announced as a contender for the skating competition after Gogglebox star Stephen broke his ankle and had to withdraw.

The star suffered a horrific accident during training and was left on crutches for the next three months.

Dancing On Ice's bad luck doesn't end there, as West End star Amber Davies, who is expected to appear on the show, revealed she had torn a leg muscle earlier this month.
