Anaheim Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg experienced the worst fear of any hockey player Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks.

In the final moments of the second period, the Swede defended one-on-one against striker Timo Meier. Wanting to clear the puck in the corner of his zone, Silfverberg missed his shot and instead fired off a quick wrist shot towards his keeper. What had to happen happened and Anthony Stolarz was thwarted by his teammate’s goal.
“It was a pretty weird game. I was lucky and he was unlucky,” Meier analyzed simply after the game.
This “success”, which is officially attributed to the Swiss striker, brought the 4:4. However, Silfverberg can take comfort in the fact that the Ducks eventually won 6-5 on penalties.
