The Quebec charging station manufacturer announced on Tuesday the launch of its FLO Ultra fast terminal. The latter is scheduled to enter service from 2024, according to a press release.
“EV demand and sales are exceeding all industry expectations and are projected to account for more than 45% of U.S. light truck sales by 2030,” said Nathan Yang, FLO’s vice president and chief product officer.
FLO claims that this new station will be able to charge most electric vehicles up to 80% in 15 minutes with power up to 320 kW through dynamic power sharing. The power can even reach up to 500 kW when several EV charging stations are interconnected.
Visually, the FLO Ultra terminal is very different from what the company has previously designed. It also has two charging ports in an aluminum case.
“The flexible, modular design of the FLO Ultra model allows for loading from one side or both sides and while parked in parallel or in rows for loading,” added Nathan Yang.
A motorized cable management system should also be implemented once patented. This system keeps cables off the ground, while its extended range allows charging no matter where the vehicle outlet is located. The cables will also be lighter and easier to maneuver.
