Elements of variety and two ex-rock and beautiful ears made it possible to improve the gala ComediHa! Fest hosted by Anthony Kavanagh at the Grand Théâtre de Québec

The evening with Anthony Kavanagh started slowly. The arrival of former rock and beauty performers Yves P. Pelletier and André Ducharme and the presence of vaudeville elements gave momentum to a gala.

An evening somewhat lacking in glamor prior to the duo’s arrival. Your presence made it possible for this third evening of the ComediHa! Festival at the Grand Théâtre de Québec.

Not only the first guests, Alex Fredo, Boucar Diouf and Jay Laliberté, who made his first appearance at ComediHa! Firm, weren’t good but lacked a bit of spice.

Galas, seasoned with varied elements and not just a comedian parade, stand out.

The arrival of Yves P. Pelletier and André Ducharme as part of a retirement home, the Maison des Ti-Vieux, took the evening to another level. We were treated to the return of the famous character Monsieur Caron.

There was a hint of Quebec’s congestion when Mr Caron said it took him an hour and a half to get to his friend Armand’s retirement home, even though he lives five minutes away.

“There are more feet in Quebec,” he said. Regarding the 3rd limb, Armand indicated that he was thinking of a third kidney due to circulatory disorders.

The old duo took over a few songs at karaoke with new versions of “Le Feu sauvage de l’amour” and “Stopdrinking”, with the lyrics “Every night I go to bars” up to “Every night I sleep”. have become the same side.

Then they interpreted Gerry Boulet’s Always Alive again with new lyrics.

“I’m the one who doesn’t move often. I’m the one who falls every two minutes. The one who knocks on your window to say hello. I’m the one knocking on your window. I need Love. »

A moment where we could see the musicians hiding behind the stages and that really got the gala going.

Anthony Kavanagh ended the first part of the show with an amusing number of photos in which he talked about his career and pointed out that young people didn’t know him.

“When I go to school, the girls are jealous of my pigtails and the boys want to buy weed from me,” he said.

Mediocre entry

Anthony Kavanagh hit the jackpot with a number about inclusivity.

“I want to unite communities and ethnic groups, but shit, Quebec is so white. There are no races in Quebec. “The blackest is in Parliament and it’s Bernard Drainville,” he said, not realizing that Quebec had changed a lot and that the old capital is becoming more and more multicultural.

He still threw some good gags.

“I have nothing against Justin, but with a father named Pet, it’s just unlucky,” he said.

Returning from the break, Anthony Kavanagh wanted to arrange a reunion with the technicians he had worked with earlier in his career, as he realized they were all very old. We got an urn, a coffin and a troupe of walking dead from the series “Walking Dead”. A troupe made up of dancers from The Cast, from the Lévis District.Mao School, who reached the finals of the show Canada’s Got Talent. Which led to a dynamic highlight.

Then there were good numbers from Dominic and Martin, Ouellet and Pascal Cameron. The spectacular impersonator Geneviève Côté appeared on the gangs with the sound of creaking doors, the sound of balls and the screams of tennis players and the ringtones of text messages. She ended her number with Once upon a time in the west with the sounds of harmonica, eagles, wind, horses, a guitar solo and the vocalizations of this famous Ennio Morricone tune.

Anthony Kavanagh ended the evening with a very good result from his survey. He delivered the goods.

“I wouldn’t change my beautiful audience for anything in the world,” he began at the end of his number. An enthusiastic audience, which showed itself demonstratively throughout the evening.
