Elon Musk responds to drug use claims as SpaceX management raises concerns – Hindustan Times

Billionaire Elon Musk received backlash after top executives at his companies Tesla and SpaceX expressed concern about his drug use, the Wall Street Journal reported. However, Elon Musk has since denied these claims.

Elon Musk has now commented on the report's claims and rejected all allegations and concerns from Tesla and SpaceX's top management. Musk, who also owned the social media platform X, said “not even traces of drugs” had been found in his system in the past.

The Tesla founder said drugs had never been detected in his system in three years of random drug testing, responding to a tweet on observed by Musk.

Musk's lawyer Alex Spiro responded to the Wall Street Journal report, saying the article reported “false facts.” Spiro said Musk had undergone drug testing in the past, as he was seen smoking marijuana on the Joe Rogan podcast in 2018.

After clips of Musk smoking marijuana sparked controversy, the billionaire had downplayed the incident, saying he only took “one hit.” He had also told his biographer Walter Isaacson that he “didn’t really like doing illegal stuff.”

Spiro said that since Rogan's podcast in 2018, not a single trace of these substances has been found in Musk's drug tests. The SpaceX founder had admitted in the past to taking ketamine, a drug used to treat depression.

A Wall Street Journal report claimed that Elon Musk had a history of drug use and frequently used LSD, cocaine, ecstasy and psychedelic drugs at parties where guests were required to sign non-disclosure agreements and hand over their phones.

The report also states that Musk hosted a party in Los Angeles in 2018 where he took several acid pills. The report also claimed that Musk was at a party in Mexico a year later where he used magic mushrooms.

Some Tesla and SpaceX executives were concerned about Musk's reported drug use and expressed fears that this type of behavior could harm his companies, WSJ reported.
