Ten-year-old Boea from the Netherlands weighs more than 50 kilos and swerved due to oncoming traffic on the way and fell into the stream, but was not aborted. As there was no cell phone network locally, the owner went to the Dürrlehen and made an emergency call from there about an hour after the accident. Meanwhile, the owner went down to the four-legged friend who was injured and could no longer walk and provided first aid.
Emergency services, alerted by the Traunstein control center, searched the uphill gorge and found the injured animal on bridge 24. An emergency paramedic from the mountain rescue service tended to the four-legged friend so he could get out of the o stream bed and even the path without major pain could be removed from the gorge on a special stretcher. A veterinarian then took over additional care, and the animal was at least well enough on Sunday to be able to return home with its owners.
