Ashley Park is recovering and looking back on the health scares she endured in the first weeks of the new year.
Taking to social media on Friday, the “Emily in Paris” star revealed that her tonsillitis developed into an infection during her vacation in December leading up to the New Year, resulting in “critical septic shock” that infected “multiple” organs .
“I'm grateful that my health has improved despite what we were originally told,” Park shared on Instagram, along with photos of herself in a hospital bed and recovering.
“I am especially grateful to @peforman for supporting me unconditionally through all of this. You calmed my fears and carried me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in intensive care, scary emergency rooms, countless scans and tests and injections, unbearable pain and so much confusion while we were alone on the other side of the world from those who we know. I love you, Paul. More than I can ever say,” she continued while confirming and seemingly confirming her relationship with her “Emily in Paris” co-star Paul Forman.
Park went on to thank “every doctor and nurse in the ICU who worked tirelessly and especially the team at @JoaliBeing who responded immediately and stayed with me to provide language translation and vital support.” Endless thanks go to my personal team of heroes at home who have been on the phone 24/7 with the insurance company, Paul, my parents and the doctors (you know who you are).”
Although she spoke openly about the health crisis and recovery, the actress admitted that she was “hesitant to share what happened” as she is “still in the middle of recovery.”
“But I know now that I’m certainly on the other side of the worst,” she added. “Thank you for reading this. I'm sorry that I've been absent from the people in my life so much lately. I love you all. I’m recovering and I promise I’ll be fine.”
Park's mail arrives the same day as Netflix announces that the Netflix series has returned to production and shared a photo of star Lily Collins with the script for the fourth season premiere. (Here's everything you need to know about the new season of Emily in Paris.) Collins expressed her love for Park in a comment on her co-star's post, writing, “I can barely watch this without crying . I love you, sister, and I'm forever grateful for you being on the other side, and to @peforman for your incredibly big heart and for being there every step of the way. I can’t wait to hug you both.”
